About Notifier

Notifier is a Honeywell-owned fire alarm brand with one of the largest installed bases globally. The platforms covered here include both the legacy and current generations:

  • NFS2-3030 — the current flagship intelligent network panel, supporting up to 10 SLC loops per node and large multi-node networks
  • AFP-3030 — the predecessor to NFS2-3030, still in widespread service
  • ID3000 / ID2000 — mid-range addressable panels for commercial sites
  • ID50 / ID60 — compact addressable variants for smaller buildings
  • Inspire e10 / e15 — entry-level addressable platform
  • AM1000 — addressable audio module for voice evacuation integration

Notifier panels typically use proprietary CLIP and FlashScan addressable protocols, with optional Apollo XP95 compatibility on some platforms.

Notifier ID3000 in Spanish

The Notifier ID3000 Programming Manual is also available in Spanish (español) — useful for engineers working across UK, Spain and Latin America installations where the same panel platform is deployed.

Notifier fire panel training

Commissioning a Notifier panel safely requires Notifier-specific training because the programming workflow and SLC loop topology differ significantly from Apollo/Hochiki-based platforms. BH Courses run a dedicated Notifier Fire Alarm Training programme covering AFP-3030 and NFS2-3030 commissioning, SLC loop addressing, cause-and-effect programming and integration with voice evacuation.

For multi-brand fire alarm training including Notifier alongside other major manufacturers, see the Fire Alarm Training Course.

Notifier NFS2-3030 Installation Manual

The NFS2-3030 Installation Manual is the comprehensive engineering reference for installing and physically commissioning the Notifier NFS2-3030 networked intelligent fire alarm panel — Notifier’s flagship platform for medium and large commercial and infrastructure installations.

What the manual covers

  • Cabinet mounting, AC mains wiring, earthing
  • Battery sizing for 24h standby + 5-min alarm (NFPA) or 30-min (EN)
  • SLC loop topology with line isolators
  • Network wiring (NCM-W modules) for multi-node installations
  • Loop-powered and conventional sounder circuit wiring
  • Auxiliary I/O, relay and supervised input modules
  • Voice evacuation integration via DVC modules
  • Cable specifications and routing
  • NFPA 72 / EN 54 compliance notes

Who should use this manual

This manual is for fire alarm installers doing the physical install of an NFS2-3030 panel. The programming, addressing and cause-and-effect setup are covered in separate Notifier programming references.

NFS2-3030 vs AFP-3030

The NFS2-3030 is the current generation; the AFP-3030 is the previous generation but still very widely installed. New installations should specify NFS2-3030; the AFP-3030 manuals here are kept for engineers maintaining existing systems.

Notifier fire panel training

BH Courses run a dedicated Notifier Fire Alarm Training programme covering NFS2-3030 commissioning, SLC loop addressing and cause-and-effect logic on real panels.

Notifier AFP-3030 Installation Manual

The AFP-3030 Installation Manual is the engineering reference for installing the legacy Notifier AFP-3030 networked intelligent fire alarm panel. The AFP-3030 was the predecessor to the current NFS2-3030 and is still installed across thousands of UK, Irish and global commercial buildings, hospitals and industrial sites.

What the manual covers

  • Cabinet mounting, AC mains wiring, earthing
  • Battery sizing
  • SLC loop topology with line isolators
  • Network wiring for multi-node configurations
  • Sounder circuit (NAC) wiring
  • Auxiliary I/O and relay modules
  • Voice evacuation integration
  • Power supply expansion options
  • NFPA 72 / EN 54 compliance notes

Who should use this manual

This manual is for fire alarm installers and maintainers working on existing AFP-3030 panels. New installations should specify the current NFS2-3030 rather than the AFP-3030.

Related Notifier AFP-3030 manuals

For panel operation, see the AFP-3030 Operations Manual. For programming, see the AFP-3030 Programming Manual.

Notifier training

BH Courses’ Notifier Fire Alarm Training covers both AFP-3030 maintenance scenarios and current NFS2-3030 commissioning workflows.

Notifier AFP-3030 Operations Manual

The AFP-3030 Operations Manual is the day-to-day operating reference for installed Notifier AFP-3030 fire alarm panels. It is written for end users, duty holders, security teams and facility managers responsible for the panel during normal building operation.

What the manual covers

  • Panel front-panel layout: LCD display, indicators, controls
  • Responding to a fire alarm condition: silence, reset, evacuate
  • Responding to a trouble (fault) condition: identifying source from the LCD
  • Acknowledging multiple events on the panel
  • Walk test mode for routine weekly testing
  • Reading the event history log
  • Access levels and key/passcode security
  • Voice evacuation integration controls

Who should use this manual

This manual is for building duty holders, facility managers, security teams and trained end-users responsible for AFP-3030 panel operation in installed buildings.

For installation and programming, see the AFP-3030 Installation Manual and Programming Manual. For the wider library, see the Notifier section.

Notifier AFP-3030 Programming Manual

The AFP-3030 Programming Manual is the engineer-level reference for configuring the Notifier AFP-3030 panel: SLC loop addressing, device labelling, cause-and-effect programming, group definitions and the offline programming workflow.

What the manual covers

  • SLC loop addressing for Notifier CLIP and FlashScan devices
  • Device labelling and zone allocation
  • Cause-and-effect programming with logic gates
  • Group definitions for cross-zone alarm propagation
  • Network configuration for multi-node sites
  • Time-of-day and day/night sensitivity modes
  • Voice evacuation cause-and-effect integration
  • Pre-discharge timer and abort logic for suppression interfaces
  • Offline programming workflow using Notifier PC tools
  • Configuration backup and version control

Who should use this manual

This manual is for fire alarm commissioning engineers programming Notifier AFP-3030 panels. End-users should refer to the Operations Manual instead.

Notifier addressable protocols

Notifier uses proprietary CLIP (Conventional Loop Interface Protocol) and FlashScan addressable protocols. These differ from the Apollo and Hochiki protocols used by most other UK addressable platforms, so engineers experienced on Apollo systems still need Notifier-specific training to commission these panels safely.

For physical installation, see the AFP-3030 Installation Manual. For day-to-day operation, see the Operations Manual.

Notifier programming training

Notifier AM1000 Audio Module Installation Manual

The AM1000 Audio Module Installation Manual covers the Notifier AM1000 audio module — the addressable interface module that integrates voice evacuation amplifiers and announcement systems into Notifier-controlled fire alarm networks.

What the manual covers

  • AM1000 module physical mounting
  • Power supply requirements
  • Audio amplifier integration
  • Speaker circuit wiring
  • Addressable interface to the Notifier panel SLC loop
