CFP

Free PDF manuals for the C-TEC CFP series — the UK-built range of conventional fire alarm panels available in 2-zone, 4-zone and 8-zone variants. The CFP is the workhorse conventional panel for small-to-medium UK commercial premises, schools, retail and healthcare sites where addressable detection is not required.

About the CFP series

The CFP is EN 54-2 and EN 54-4 certified and provides full BS 5839-1 compliance out of the box. Key platform features:

  • CFP 2-Zone — entry-level conventional panel for small premises
  • CFP 4-Zone — mid-size conventional panel for typical commercial sites
  • CFP 8-Zone — larger conventional panel for multi-zone installations
  • Conventional 2-wire detection circuits with fault monitoring
  • Two monitored sounder circuits (NACs) with fault detection
  • Volt-free fire and fault relay outputs for plant interface
  • Networking up to 8 CFP panels for distributed conventional sites
  • Walk test mode for one-engineer commissioning and weekly testing
  • Enable/disable functions for managed isolations during planned works

Where the CFP fits

The CFP is the right choice for sites where conventional zone-level detection is acceptable: small offices, retail units, restaurants, care homes, small schools, churches and community buildings. For sites where individual-device-level detection or larger zone counts are required, the C-TEC XFP addressable range is the next step up.

C-TEC CFP installation training

BH Courses run a dedicated C-TEC CFP conventional fire alarm installation course covering panel wiring, zone configuration, sounder circuits, walk test workflows and BS 5839-1 commissioning sign-off. The course is suited to electricians moving into fire alarm work and to security installers expanding their fire alarm competence.

For multi-brand fire alarm training including conventional and addressable platforms in one programme, see the Fire Alarm Training Course.

The CFP Conventional User Manual (alternative version) is the day-to-day operating reference for installed C-TEC CFP fire alarm panels. It covers panel operation, alarm and fault handling, and basic engineering features for end users and duty holders.

What the manual covers

  • Panel front-panel layout: zone LEDs, status indicators, controls
  • Responding to fire alarms and faults
  • Zone disablements and re-enable workflow
  • Sounder silence and panel reset
  • Walk test mode access for weekly testing
  • Access levels and key switch security
  • Common fault indications and their causes

Who should use this manual

This manual is for building duty holders, facility managers and trained end-users operating CFP panels daily. For installation, see the CFP 2-Zone Installation Manual.

BS 5839 weekly testing

Weekly user tests are mandatory under BS 5839-1 in the UK. For the full duty-holder responsibilities, see the BS 5839 / BAFE SP203-1 compliance track.
