Gamewell traces its origins to 1855 when the company manufactured municipal street fire alarm boxes — the original infrastructure for alerting fire departments before telephones were available. The modern Gamewell-FCI was formed through the merger of Gamewell and Fire Control Instruments and is now part of Carrier Global’s fire safety portfolio alongside Edwards EST.
